Miller Edge RBand RB-TX10 Monitored Wireless Gate Edge Transmitter

The Miller Edge RBand RB-TX10 Monitored Wireless Safety Edge Transmitter provides a wireless connection between a compatible monitored sensing edge and an approved RBand receiver. It eliminates the moving hardwired connection from the gate-mounted transmitter back to the receiver, making it suitable for compatible sliding, swinging, and other automated gate systems.

Designed for use with Miller Edge 10K/T2 monitored sensing edges with blue-band termination, the RB-TX10 communicates edge status wirelessly to the receiver. The receiver then provides the appropriate connection to the operator’s safety input.

TRANSMITTER ONLY. A compatible receiver and sensing edge are required and sold separately.

Wireless range depends on receiver antenna placement, obstructions, and radio conditions. Verify communication throughout the gate or door’s complete travel.

How It Works

The compatible sensing edge connects directly to the RB-TX10 transmitter through a short local cable.

The transmitter sends edge status wirelessly to the paired RBand receiver. The receiver communicates with the operator through its approved safety-input connection.

The transmitter does not connect directly to the operator’s monitored input and cannot provide a complete safety-edge system by itself.

Receiver Compatibility

Miller Edge documents the RB-TX10 for use with:

• RB-G-K10 gate systems using the RB-G-RX10 receiver

• RB-P-K10 door systems using the RB-P-RX10 receiver

Receiver type determines the operator interface and available transmitter capacity.

Before ordering a replacement or additional transmitter, confirm:

• Existing receiver model

• Receiver and transmitter hardware revisions

• Sensing-edge termination

• Available receiver channel capacity

• Operator monitoring requirements

Do not assume compatibility with every RBand revision or another manufacturer’s wireless receiver. Confirm compatibility before combining older components with newer “C” revision equipment.

Compatible Sensing Edge

The RB-TX10 requires a Miller Edge 10K resistive monitored sensing edge with T2/blue-band termination.

Do not substitute:

• A T3 diode-capacitor edge

• An 8.2K edge

• A pneumatic switch

• An ordinary non-monitored contact

The RB-TX10 is not the RB-TX20 transmitter used with T3 diode-capacitor edge systems.

Adding Another Sensing Edge

The RB-G-K10 gate receiver supports up to three compatible transmitters per channel, with six total across its two channels.

Additional transmitters can provide wireless connections for separate sensing-edge locations. Channel assignments must match the operator’s required safety functions.

Transmitters assigned to the same channel report through that channel’s output; they do not create separate operator inputs.

Replacement and Troubleshooting

A safety-system fault does not automatically mean the transmitter has failed.

Before replacing the RB-TX10, have a qualified technician check:

• Battery type, condition, and polarity

• Sensing-edge condition and termination

• Edge cable and terminal connections

• Receiver power

• Pairing and channel assignment

• Wireless signal throughout travel

• Receiver-to-operator wiring and monitoring configuration

Replace the transmitter only after identifying the fault and confirming that the replacement is compatible with the existing receiver.

Batteries and Maintenance

Use two 3.6V AA lithium batteries, as specified by Miller Edge. Standard 1.5V AA batteries are not suitable replacements.

Inspect the enclosure, mounting screws, cable entry, and sensing-edge connection during maintenance. Keep the housing properly closed and investigate low-battery warnings promptly.

After replacing batteries or servicing the equipment, test the edge, wireless communication, and operator response.
