Universal Garage Door Slide Lock for 2" & 3" Track

The Universal Garage Door Slide Lock is a simple, durable interior mechanical lock designed for sectional garage doors using either 2" or 3" vertical track.

Mounted on the inside of the garage door near the vertical track, the lock uses a sliding steel bar that extends through an opening in the track. When engaged, the bar physically blocks door travel above the roller, preventing the garage door from being raised.

Because this universal model works with both common residential track sizes, it is an excellent replacement option for damaged, missing, or worn slide locks and a practical choice when adding an interior mechanical lock to an existing garage door.

How the Slide Lock Works

The lock is installed on the interior side of the garage door, usually near the lower portion of the vertical track.

When the garage door is completely closed, the user manually pushes the locking bar outward.

The bar extends through an opening in the vertical garage door track and creates a physical obstruction above the roller.

With the bar engaged, the roller cannot travel upward through the track, preventing the garage door from opening.

To operate the garage door again, simply retract the locking bar completely before raising the door.

Installation Notes
