Miller Edge Air-Wave Safety Edge Kit – 24 ft Cord Reel
The Miller Edge Air-Wave Safety Edge Kit provides pneumatic obstruction detection for compatible commercial garage doors and industrial door systems. When the connected sensing edge is compressed, air pressure activates the AW14 switch, sending a signal to the operator to stop or reverse the moving door.
The included 24-foot retracting cord reel maintains the electrical connection between the moving door and the stationary operator controls.

Compatibility
Designed for use with Miller Edge Air-Wave pneumatic sensing edges, compatible treadles, and commercial door operators that accept a non-monitored 2-wire safety input.
Common compatible applications include:
• Older commercial door operators with non-monitored safety-edge inputs
• Commercial sectional doors
• Rolling steel doors
• Industrial doors
• Pneumatic treadle systems
• Secondary non-monitored obstruction-detection inputs
This kit is not a direct replacement for monitored 10K, pulsed, optical, or wireless safety-edge systems. Many newer UL 325 operators require monitored entrapment protection and may not accept this switch directly. Verify the operator’s required input type before ordering.
Installation Notes
• Mount the Air-Wave switch in a protected location according to Miller Edge instructions.
• Install the cord reel where it can extend and retract freely throughout the door’s complete travel.
• Connect the switch output to the correct operator safety-input terminals.
• Adjust the switch sensitivity after the pneumatic sensing edge is installed.
• Inspect all air hoses, connectors and plugs for leaks.
• Test the sensing edge at multiple points across the full width of the door.
• Confirm that edge activation reliably stops or reverses the door before returning the system to service.
Safety Information
A sensing edge is an entrapment-protection device and must be installed and tested by a qualified commercial-door technician. Never use this non-monitored switch to bypass a required monitored safety device.
Disconnect electrical power before installation or service. After installation, test the safety edge during both opening and closing cycles as required by the operator manufacturer. Do not operate the door if the sensing edge, cord reel, pneumatic tubing or wiring is damaged.
Important: Sensing-edge material and pneumatic air hose are not identified as included with this package. Confirm all required components before ordering.
