Miller Edge MWRT12 Wireless Safety Edge Transmitter & Receiver Kit – 318 MHz

MWRT12
$199.00

The Miller Edge MWRT12 is a single-channel non-monitored wireless sensing-edge transmitter and receiver kitdesigned for commercial garage doors, industrial overhead doors, and compatible automated gate systems.

The system eliminates the need for a moving coil cord or retractable cord reel between the sensing edge and operator. The door-mounted MWT12 transmitter connects to a compatible 2-wire normally-open sensing edge and wirelessly sends the edge activation signal to the MWR12 receiver connected to the operator.

When the sensing edge contacts an obstruction, the transmitter sends the signal to the receiver so the compatible operator can stop and/or reverse according to its control configuration.

Kit Components

The MWRT12 consists of:

  • MWT12 Single-Channel Wireless Transmitter

  • MWR12 Single-Channel Wireless Receiver

This listing is for the complete transmitter and receiver kit, not the transmitter by itself.

How It Works

The transmitter mounts on or near the moving door and connects directly to the sensing edge.

When the sensing edge is compressed:

  1. The normally-open sensing-edge circuit closes.

  2. The MWT12 transmitter sends a wireless 318 MHz signal.

  3. The MWR12 receiver detects the transmission.

  4. The receiver changes its relay output.

  5. The compatible operator responds by stopping and/or reversing as configured.

This wireless connection helps eliminate wiring that would otherwise need to move with the door.

Common Applications

Suitable for compatible:

  • Commercial sectional garage doors

  • Industrial overhead doors

  • Rolling door systems

  • Warehouse doors

  • Loading dock doors

  • Commercial vehicle entrances

  • Automated gates

  • Other moving-door systems using compatible non-monitored sensing edges

Compatible Sensing Edge

The MWRT12 transmitter is designed for a:

2-wire Normally Open non-monitored sensing edge

Always verify the sensing-edge electrical configuration before ordering.

It should not be assumed compatible with:

  • 10K monitored sensing edges

  • Diode-capacitor monitored edges

  • Pulsed monitored edges

  • Other monitored UL 325 edge formats

Wireless Range

The system provides an operating range of up to approximately 100 feet under optimal conditions.

Actual range may be affected by:

  • Metal structures

  • Operator housings

  • Building construction

  • Radio interference

  • Transmitter and receiver placement

  • Physical obstructions

Proper transmitter and receiver positioning is important for reliable operation.

Receiver

The MWR12 receiver connects to the commercial door or gate operator and provides:

  • Normally Open relay output

  • Normally Closed relay output

  • Power and status LEDs

  • 12–24VAC/VDC operation

An external antenna connection is also available when required by the installation.

Transmitter

The MWT12 transmitter mounts near the moving sensing edge and features:

  • 2-wire N.O. edge input

  • 318 MHz wireless transmission

  • NEMA 4 enclosure

  • Transmit LED

  • Two AA battery power

  • Approximately 2-year expected battery life under typical conditions

Important Compatibility Notice

MWRT12 is a NON-MONITORED wireless edge system.

Modern commercial door and gate operators may require a monitored entrapment-protection device under UL 325.

For operators requiring monitored wireless edge communication, a compatible Miller Edge RBand monitored systemmay be required instead.

Always verify the operator model, manufacturing date, safety-input requirements, and sensing-edge type before ordering.

Package Contents

Includes:

  • 1 – Miller Edge MWT12 Wireless Edge Transmitter

  • 1 – Miller Edge MWR12 Wireless Receiver

  • Transmitter batteries

  • Required basic mounting components

Sensing edge, operator, external antenna, wiring, and other installation accessories are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.

Important Safety Information

The MWRT12 is part of an entrapment-protection/control system and must be correctly matched to the operator and sensing edge.

After installation, activate the sensing edge at multiple points and verify that the door or gate stops and/or reverses as required before returning the system to normal operation.

Do not use this non-monitored system where the operator requires a monitored entrapment-protection device.
