The Linear Multi-Code 109020, also known as the 1090-20, is a single-channel radio receiver designed for compatible residential garage door openers and access-control applications using the Multi-Code 300 MHz fixed-code system.

The receiver typically mounts directly to the three terminals on a compatible garage door operator and uses the operator’s 24 VAC accessory power.

When a compatible Multi-Code transmitter programmed to the same 10-position DIP-switch code is activated, the receiver sends an output signal to the operator to open, close, or cycle the door according to the operator configuration.

### What Is It Used For?

The 109020 allows a compatible garage door opener or operator to receive commands from Multi-Code 300 MHz remote controls.

Typical system:

Multi-Code Remote → 300 MHz Radio Signal → 109020 Receiver → Garage Door Operator

When the transmitter and receiver DIP switches are set to the same code, pressing the remote button activates the receiver output and triggers the connected operator.

### 10 DIP-Switch Fixed-Code System

The 109020 uses:

10 binary DIP switches

Each switch has two possible positions, providing:

1,024 possible code combinations

To program the system, the DIP-switch pattern inside the receiver must match the pattern inside the compatible transmitter.

This is a traditional fixed-code radio system and should not be confused with modern rolling-code technologies.

### 300 MHz Compatibility

The 109020 is compatible with:

MULTI-CODE 300 MHz TRANSMITTERS ONLY

Common compatible transmitters include select:

- Multi-Code 3089
- Multi-Code 4120
- Multi-Code 4140
- Multi-Code 3070
- Multi-Code 3060
- Multi-Code 3083
- Compatible 300 MHz Multi-Code wireless keypads

Always verify the transmitter frequency and coding format before ordering.

### Important Frequency Warning

Do not confuse the 109020 with other Multi-Code receiver generations.

The 109020 operates at:

300 MHz

It should not be assumed compatible with:

- 310 MHz receivers
- 318 MHz systems
- 340 MHz remotes
- 360 MHz remotes
- 390 MHz remotes
- Security+ systems
- Intellicode systems
- Rolling-code transmitters

Frequency and coding format must match.

### 24 VAC Power

The receiver requires:

24 VAC

In many residential garage door opener installations, power is supplied directly from the operator’s accessory terminals.

The receiver can also be powered remotely using compatible Linear accessories such as:

- 109201 Wiring Harness
- 109207 Wiring Harness

These accessories may include a plug-in transformer for installations where operator power is not available.

### Direct Operator Mounting

The 109020 is commonly installed directly onto compatible three-terminal garage door operators.

Its terminal lugs can fit:

- Under screw terminals
or
- Onto compatible push-on terminals

For remote mounting, the Linear 109206 3-Wire Adapter may be used where appropriate.

### Common Applications

Ideal for compatible:

- Residential garage door openers
- Older garage door operator systems
- Garage door radio-control upgrades
- Replacement of failed Multi-Code receivers
- Gate operators using compatible 24 VAC control inputs
- Access-control applications using 300 MHz Multi-Code transmitters

### Package Contents

Includes:

- 1 – Linear Multi-Code 109020 1-Channel Receiver
- 11" Wire Antenna
- Installation / Programming Instructions

Remote controls, transformer, wiring harness, operator, and other accessories are not included unless specifically stated.

### Important Compatibility Note

Before ordering, verify:

- Operator provides compatible 24 VAC power
- Operator has compatible control terminals
- Existing remote operates at 300 MHz
- Existing transmitter uses 10 binary DIP switches
- Receiver and transmitter codes can be matched

Do not order based only on the Multi-Code brand name.

### Important Installation Note

Disconnect power to the garage door opener or gate operator before installing the receiver.

After installation:

- Set the receiver DIP switches
- Match the transmitter DIP-switch pattern
- Restore power
- Test remote operation
- Confirm the door or gate responds correctly
- Verify all required safety devices remain operational

Never bypass photo eyes, sensing edges, or other required entrapment-protection equipment.
