Miller Edge RG-K-R Reflecti-Guard Reflective Photo Eye Kit – 7–30 ft., Relay / 10K Output

The Miller Edge RG-K-R Reflecti-Guard is a reflective photoelectric safety sensor for compatible automated door and gate systems. It detects obstructions that interrupt the beam between the combined emitter/receiver and the opposite reflector, signaling the operator to stop or stop and reverse.

Only the emitter/receiver requires wiring. The passive reflector returns the beam across the opening, simplifying installations where running wiring to both sides is difficult.

COMPATIBILITY & OUTPUT SELECTION

For operators that support the selected RG-R output and required monitoring method. Verify the operator model, control-board revision, supply voltage, and approved safety-device requirements.

• 10K output: For compatible 10K monitored inputs.
• Normally closed output: For compatible operator inputs using the required monitoring arrangement.
• Normally open output: A non-monitored configuration requiring modification according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

The RG-K-R relay version is different from the RG-K-P pulsed-output version. Do not substitute it for a pulsed photo eye without documented operator compatibility.

UL component recognition alone does not establish compatibility with every door or gate operator.

INSTALLATION & SAFETY

Have a qualified door or gate technician install and configure the system. Disconnect electrical power and battery backup before wiring.

Maintain the specified 7–30-foot separation, align the sensor and reflector, and position the beam according to the operator’s installation instructions. Keep the optical surfaces clean and the beam path clear.

Test obstruction detection and the operator’s required fault response before returning the system to service. Never bypass monitoring or use the normally open configuration where monitored protection is required.

A single beam detects objects crossing its path; additional safety devices may be needed to protect other entrapment zones.
