  The LiftMaster 880LMW Smart Control Panel is a wired wall-mounted control console designed for compatible LiftMaster garage door openers using Security+ 2.0 technology.   In addition to opening and closing the garage door, the control panel operates the opener lights, activates the lock function, and allows compatible remote controls and wireless keypads to be programmed directly through the wall console.

  Compatibility

  The LiftMaster 880LMW is compatible only with select LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Raynor garage door openers using:

  • A yellow learn button
  • A compatible serial-encrypted wired control-panel connection

  This control panel is not compatible with every opener that uses two wall-control wires.

  It is generally not compatible with older garage door openers using:

  • Purple learn buttons
  • Red or orange learn buttons
  • Green learn buttons
  • Standard doorbell-style wall controls
  • Security+ 1.0 communication systems
  • Non-LiftMaster control-panel wiring protocols

  Before ordering, confirm the opener model number, learn-button color, owner’s manual, and listed wall-control compatibility. A yellow learn button is an important identifier, but the exact opener model should still be verified.

  Replacement Applications

  The 880LMW may be used to replace an existing compatible wall console that:

  Installation Requirements

  Before installation:

  • Disconnect electrical power and battery power from the opener
  • Confirm that the opener is compatible with the 880LMW
  • Inspect the existing low-voltage control wires for damage
  • Photograph or label the existing wire connections
  • Connect the wires to the correct terminals and maintain proper polarity
  • Mount the panel where it is visible from the garage door but away from moving door components
  • Install the control panel out of reach of small children

  After installation, reconnect power and test the door, lights, lock function, motion sensor, and programming menus.

  Installation and Safety

  The wall control should be mounted at least 5 feet above the floor and within clear view of the garage door. Do not install it near the moving door, tracks, springs, cables, or other hazardous components.

  Only operate the garage door when the doorway is clear and the door can be seen throughout its full travel. Stop using the opener if the door binds, reverses unexpectedly, moves unevenly, or has damaged hardware.
