The sending and receiving photo eyes create an invisible beam across the door opening. When an obstruction interrupts the beam, the connected operator responds according to its programming and monitored-safety requirements.
CPS-UN4 is not universally compatible with every LiftMaster operator. Confirm the operator model, logic-board generation, monitored-input requirements, wiring terminals, mounting environment and required protection method before ordering. Do not confuse CPS-UN4 with CPS-U, CPS-OPEN4, CPS-RPEN4 or other LiftMaster photo-eye systems.
Install the sensors at the height and location required by the operator manual. Protect the wiring, align the beam and test obstruction response throughout the opening. Installation and final safety testing should be performed by a qualified commercial-door technician.
