J jackshaft operators

Other commercial operator configurations using the 5L304 belt size

Common Replacement Indicators
-
Cracks between the belt cogs
-
Glazed, hardened or polished belt surfaces
-
Frayed belt edges
-
Excessive belt dust inside the operator
-
Belt slips under normal operating load
-
Motor runs while the driven pulley moves inconsistently
Inspect both pulleys, shaft alignment and bearings before installing a replacement belt. A worn or misaligned pulley can quickly damage the new belt.

Installation & Safety
Disconnect and lock out operator power before installation. Do not pry the belt over a pulley with a screwdriver; loosen the applicable motor or tensioning hardware.
Set belt tension according to the operator manual. Excessive tension can overload the motor, reducer and pulley bearings, while insufficient tension can cause slipping and premature belt wear.
