LiftMaster 850LM 3-Channel Universal Receiver – Security+ 2.0

The LiftMaster 850LM is an external radio receiver that adds compatible Security+ 2.0 remote control operation to gate operators and commercial door operators. It provides a practical way to upgrade an existing radio system while keeping a compatible operator in service.

Three independent channels allow the receiver to control up to three separate operators or provide dedicated Open, Close, and Stop commands for one compatible commercial door operator.

Compatible Remotes and Keypads

Supported LiftMaster remotes include:

• 811LMX and 813LMX, configured for Security+ 2.0 Encrypted DIP.
• 891LM and 893LM.
• 890MAX and 893MAX.
• 892LT and 894LT.

Compatible keypads include the LiftMaster 877LM and 878MAX.

“Universal” refers to compatibility with suitable operator control systems—it does not mean the receiver accepts every remote brand, frequency, or coding format. Older 315 MHz or 390 MHz DIP-switch remotes are not compatible simply because their frequency matches.

Not for use with myQ-enabled garage door openers or devices. This receiver does not add Wi-Fi or myQ smartphone control.

Channel Capacity

• Channel 1: Up to 50 remote controls and 2 keypads.
• Channel 2: Up to 20 remote controls and 2 keypads.
• Channel 3: Up to 20 remote controls and 2 keypads.

Each remote button can be assigned to only one receiver channel at a time.

Installation Requirements

Confirm the operator’s control inputs and accessory power supply before installation. If suitable power is unavailable, an appropriate external transformer is required. Follow the receiver and operator wiring diagrams, especially for Open/Close/Stop configurations.

• Disconnect electrical power before installing or changing wiring.
• Installation and wiring should be performed by a qualified garage door or gate technician.
• Maintain all required safety edges, photo eyes, and entrapment protection devices. Never bypass safety circuits.
• Operate the door or gate only when it is visible and its travel path is clear.
• Keep remote controls away from children and keep people clear of moving doors and gates.
• The receiver controls the operator; it does not replace the operator’s safety system.
