Compatibility & Fitment

The V2 supports compatible Guardian openers and many other brands manufactured after 1993, provided the opener operates a residential sectional door and has a working photo-eye safety system.

Compatibility depends on the opener’s control electronics—not just its brand or age. Openers with encrypted push-button inputs are not compatible with the V2’s standard connection.

Important Matching Notes

• The V2 is not compatible with every garage door opener.

• A BEAM Smart Port is not required; the kit connects through compatible push-button terminals.

• The V2 requires its included wireless door sensor to monitor door position.

• Your garage must have a suitable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal; the controller does not connect to a 5 GHz-only network.

• Remote app functions require power and an internet connection. This kit does not provide battery backup.

• For separate garage door openers, use a separate kit for each door.

• If you already have a compatible BEAM-ready opener, the V3 plug-in controller may be the appropriate alternative.

Installation Notes

Follow the included Guardian installation guide and the BEAM Home app prompts.

1. Download BEAM Home and begin setup using the homeowner’s smartphone.

2. Connect the controller to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

3. Pair the wireless door sensor and mount it near the top of the garage door’s interior panel.

4. Mount the controller on or near the opener, within reach of the connection cable and power outlet.

5. Disconnect opener power before connecting the cable to the specified push-button terminals.

6. Restore power and verify app control, sensor reporting, and safe door operation.

The wireless door-position sensor does not replace the opener’s safety photo eyes. Both serve different purposes and must be installed correctly.

Safety Warning

For use only with compatible residential sectional garage doors and openers manufactured after 1993 equipped with a functioning photo-eye safety system. Do not use with one-piece or swinging doors.

Never bypass safety sensors. Confirm the opener’s reversing system works properly before enabling remote control or automatic closing. Keep people, pets, and objects clear of the moving door, and follow all manufacturer instructions.
