COMPATIBILITY & SELECTION
For sectional garage doors equipped with a compatible extension spring, cable, and pulley system. Not a replacement for torsion springs or 27/48 springs used on 8-foot-high doors.
In a standard two-spring residential system, a matched pair of 160 lb springs is selected for a 160 lb door—not a 320 lb door. Confirm the actual door weight, spring dimensions, end configuration, and pulley arrangement before ordering. Color alone is not enough to confirm compatibility.
Replacing both springs together helps maintain balanced lifting force and avoids pairing a new spring with a fatigued spring.
