The SSC 120 lb extension spring is designed for compatible 7-foot-high sectional garage doors using a 25/42 extension spring system. Green color coding identifies the weight class, and clipped ends provide attachment points for compatible extension spring hardware.
Manufactured from oil-tempered wire with a black coating, this spring is rated for a minimum of 10,000 cycles. One cycle equals one complete opening and closing of the door.

APPLICATION & COMPATIBILITY
For compatible sectional garage doors with extension springs mounted alongside the horizontal tracks. Match the replacement to the door’s actual weight, spring dimensions, attachment style, and cable-and-pulley arrangement.
In a standard two-spring residential setup, a matched pair of 120 lb extension springs is selected for a 120 lb door—not a 240 lb door. One spring should not be used alone to support the entire door.
The 25/42 designation means a nominal 25-inch relaxed spring length with 42 inches of additional stretch. It does not mean the fully extended spring measures 42 inches.
This spring is not a direct replacement for a torsion spring or a 27/48 extension spring used on an 8-foot-high door. Color coding helps identify the weight class but does not establish compatibility by itself.
REPLACEMENT NOTES
Replacing both extension springs together helps maintain balanced lifting force and avoids pairing a new spring with a worn spring. Have the pulleys, lift cables, safety cables, clips, and mounting hardware inspected during replacement.
SAFETY WARNING
Garage door springs and related hardware are under high tension. Improper installation, adjustment, or removal can cause serious injury or death. Installation and service should be performed by a trained garage door technician.
Properly installed containment safety cables must run through both extension springs. Included clips do not replace safety cables. Never operate a door with a broken spring, frayed cable, damaged hardware, or uncontrolled movement.
