The battery backup connects directly to the compatible garage door opener and remains charged while the operator is connected to household power.
When utility power is interrupted, the battery system automatically provides temporary power so the garage door can continue to open and close. After installation or a complete discharge, allow approximately 24 hours for the batteries to recharge fully.
