The Guardian 7160V PRO Series Garage Door Opener is a smooth, quiet residential operator powered by a 12V DC motor with approximately 720N of operating force, rated at 1/2 HPe.

Designed to work with compatible Guardian chain-drive or belt-drive rail systems, the 7160V gives installers flexibility to select the drive style and rail length appropriate for the garage door while using the same operator head.

The 7160V also features BEAM Smart Control compatibility, motion-activated 100W courtesy lighting, Guardian ClearCom® radio controls, photo-eye safety protection, and optional battery backup capability.

Smooth & Quiet 12V DC Motor

The Guardian 7160V uses a 12V DC motor designed for smooth and quiet residential garage door operation.

Compared with traditional AC operator designs, DC operation allows smoother motor control and makes the 7160V particularly attractive for garages located:

• Below bedrooms

• Adjacent to living areas

• Near home offices

• In homes where operating noise and vibration are important considerations

The operator is designed to move a properly balanced garage door.

It should never be used to compensate for a broken spring, incorrect spring tension, damaged rollers, binding tracks, or an otherwise improperly balanced door.

720N / 1/2 HPe Operating Force

The 7160V provides approximately 720 Newtons of operating force, rated as 1/2 HPe.

HPe is a comparative operator-strength designation and should not be interpreted as a conventional AC motor horsepower measurement.

Correct opener selection should consider the complete garage door system, including door construction, weight, balance, height, hardware condition, and rail configuration.

Chain or Belt Drive Compatible

The Guardian 7160V can be paired with an appropriate Guardian:

Chain Drive

Chain drive is often selected where durability, straightforward construction, and value are priorities.

Belt Drive

Maintenance-Free Power Train

Guardian describes the 7160V power train and compatible rail system as designed for low-maintenance operation.

Normal garage door maintenance is still required.

Rollers, hinges, springs, bearings, cables, tracks, and other door components should be inspected and maintained according to their applicable service requirements.

Motion-Activated 100W Courtesy Lighting

The 7160V provides a 100-watt maximum courtesy-light system.

A built-in motion sensor can activate the opener lighting when movement is detected in the garage, adding convenience when entering the garage without operating the door.

Always follow Guardian's bulb-type and wattage requirements.

BEAM Smart Control Ready

The Guardian 7160V includes a BEAM Smart Port and is compatible with the Guardian BEAM Smart Controller.

When equipped with the appropriate BEAM controller and connected to Wi-Fi, the opener can support smartphone-based garage door monitoring and control.

Depending on the compatible controller and software configuration, smart functions may include:

Always verify radio compatibility when attempting to use existing Guardian transmitters with a replacement operator.

Deluxe Door Control Console

The included Guardian Deluxe Door Control Console allows the user to:

• Activate remote-control security lockout

Photo-Eye Safety System

The Guardian 7160V uses a required photo-eye safety system designed to detect an obstruction in the door's closing path.

If the infrared beam is interrupted while the door is closing, the operator is designed to reverse the door.
