Miller Edge 18-Foot Air-Wave Safety Edge Kit with 12-Foot Coil Cord

The Miller Edge Air-Wave kit provides contact-activated obstruction detection for compatible commercial door systems. When the sensing hose is compressed, an air-pressure wave activates the switch, sending an electrical signal to the operator to stop and/or reverse the door.

This kit combines an 18-foot gum rubber hose with an adjustable Air-Wave switch and a 12-foot coil cord for a wired connection between the moving door and its control system.

INSTALLATION NOTES

Professional installation is recommended. Disconnect and lock out operator power before wiring or servicing.

Protect the switch enclosure from weather and washdown exposure. Route the hose and cord to avoid sharp bends, pinching, snagging, and excessive stretching. Adjust sensitivity and test the completed system according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

SAFETY WARNINGS

This is a contact-activated safety device: it must encounter an obstruction to activate. It does not detect people or objects before contact.

Do not use this non-monitored kit in place of monitored entrapment protection required by the operator manufacturer. Never bypass photoeyes or other required safety devices.

Test the edge response along the protected area before returning the door to service. Inspect the hose, fittings, wiring, and cord regularly. Stop automatic operation if the door fails to respond correctly.

Never use a person or body part to test door reversal. Follow the manufacturer’s specified test procedure.
