The SSC .2187 x 2" ID x 28" right-wind torsion spring is designed for compatible sectional garage door counterbalance systems. It includes installed winding and stationary cones and features coated, oil-tempered spring wire.

White color coding identifies the .2187-inch wire size. The spring is rated for a minimum of 10,000 cycles when correctly selected and operated within its intended application. One cycle equals one complete opening and closing of the door.

COMMON USES & COMPATIBILITY

For replacement in sectional garage door torsion systems requiring this wire diameter, inside diameter, body length, and winding direction. Suitable for a single-spring or paired-spring system only when the complete spring selection matches the door’s requirements.

Compatibility depends on door weight, door height, cable drums, track configuration, and required torque. This spring does not have a universal door-weight rating.

WINDING & COLOR IDENTIFICATION

RW means right-hand wound; it does not mean the spring installs on the right side. In a conventional front-mounted torsion system, the right-wind spring normally mounts on the left side of the center support when viewed from inside the garage looking out. Other configurations may differ.

The white marking identifies wire size, not winding direction. Confirm the actual spring winding before ordering.

MATCHING & REPLACEMENT NOTES

Match all four key measurements: wire diameter, inside diameter, relaxed spring body length, and winding direction. Measure the spring body without including the cones.

For a matched two-spring system, the opposite side typically uses a corresponding left-wind spring. Some doors use intentionally different spring sizes; have the complete system verified before changing either spring.

High-lift, vertical-lift, and modified drum systems require separate spring calculations. A higher-cycle replacement must maintain the required torque characteristics; a longer spring alone is not a direct substitute.

Do not loosen cones, set screws, cable drums, or spring mounting hardware while the system is under tension. Do not operate a door with a broken spring or damaged counterbalance components.
