This right-wind (RW) torsion spring is manufactured by Service Spring Corporation (SSC) for sectional overhead door torsion systems requiring a .2187" wire size, 1.75" inside diameter, and 120" overall spring length. The spring is manufactured from coated, oil-tempered spring wire and is supplied with the winding cone and stationary cone installed.

The .2187" wire size uses the industry-standard white identification color. Because wire color is intended only as an identification aid, always verify the actual wire diameter, inside diameter, spring length, wind direction, and required spring engineering before ordering.

Designed for use in torsion-spring counterbalance systems on sectional overhead doors where the door specifications and spring calculations call for a right-wind .2187" x 1.75" ID x 120" torsion spring.

The 120" length makes this a long-length torsion spring and it should only be used where this spring specification has been properly calculated for the door system.

This is a Right Wind (RW) spring.

Right-wind and left-wind torsion springs are not interchangeable simply because their dimensions are the same. Always verify the wind direction of the existing spring and the engineering requirements of the door before ordering.

Important Matching Notes

Do not select a replacement spring based only on its painted color.

The white color code identifies the .2187" wire size, but color markings can fade, become dirty, or be confused with other spring markings. Physically measure the wire whenever possible and confirm all spring dimensions.

When replacing one spring in a two-spring system, also verify the specifications of the opposite spring. Paired springs may use different wind directions and, in some systems, different dimensions.

Changing spring length, wire diameter, or inside diameter can significantly change the spring's torque characteristics and should not be done without proper spring calculations.

Installation Notes
