A compatible LiftMaster belt-drive rail and belt assembly matching the garage door height must be purchased separately.

Camera and myQ Connectivity

The integrated camera provides wide-angle garage coverage and night vision. Through the myQ app, compatible users can monitor the garage, view the camera and control the door from a supported smartphone.

Some camera features, video history or advanced services may require a myQ account or paid subscription. Availability depends on the current myQ service plan.

Battery Backup

The included battery backup allows the garage door opener to operate during a power outage. Because the 6580L includes battery backup, it is suitable for installation and sale in California when installed according to applicable requirements.

Lighting

The dual LED lighting system delivers up to 1,500 lumens of broad garage illumination. Motion detection automatically activates the lights when movement is detected inside the garage.

Rail Compatibility

The 6580L requires a compatible LiftMaster belt-drive rail assembly selected according to the garage door height and installation configuration. Confirm the rail model before ordering. An older rail should not be reused unless LiftMaster specifically approves it for the 6580L.

The 6580L uses the newer Security+ 3.0 platform. Compatible accessories include:

Important Power-Rating Note

LiftMaster uses “1 HPs” to describe lifting capacity comparable to a 1 HP AC motor. DC motor output is not technically measured in conventional horsepower.

Installation Notes

Professional installation is recommended. The garage door must be properly balanced and operate smoothly by hand before connecting the opener. Select the correct rail for the door height and test the safety sensors, travel limits, force settings and automatic-reversal system after installation.
