How It Works

Pneumatic signal systems operate by detecting a change in air pressure.

When a vehicle tire or other object compresses the hose, air inside the hose is displaced and creates a pressure pulse. That pressure pulse travels through the hose toward a connected pneumatic switch.

The opposite end of the hose must be properly sealed so that the pressure does not escape. This plug closes that end of the hose and helps maintain enough pressure for reliable switch activation.
