The Narrow ORB Zinc Operator Reinforcement Bracket is designed to create a stronger, more secure connection between a sectional garage door and the automatic garage door opener arm. The vertical reinforcement bracket helps distribute the forces created by the opener across a larger portion of the top door section instead of concentrating the load at a small attachment point.

Its narrow configuration is designed for 21" garage door sections and can be field-trimmed for installation on 18" sections. The zinc finish provides corrosion resistance for typical residential garage door applications.

What an ORB Does

An Operator Reinforcement Bracket provides a reinforced mounting point where the garage door opener arm connects to the door.

Compared with attaching the opener arm directly to a small door bracket or limited section of the center stile, an ORB spreads the opening and closing forces over a larger area of the top section. This can help reduce flexing, tearing, or damage around the opener attachment point.

The bracket may be field-trimmed to fit an 18" section.

Before ordering, verify the height and construction of the top garage door section and confirm that the mounting area provides adequate structural support for an operator reinforcement bracket.

Installation Notes

Install the ORB vertically on the top section of the garage door at the operator attachment point. The garage door opener arm connects to the reinforcement bracket using the appropriate attachment hardware.

A reinforcement bracket should not be used to compensate for a garage door that is excessively heavy or improperly balanced. If the opener is pulling unusually hard on the door, the spring system, rollers, tracks, and door balance should be inspected before continued operation.

Disconnect the garage door opener before installation or adjustment and follow the door and opener manufacturer's installation requirements.
