  • Multi-Code 1099-20 300 MHz 1-Channel Gate and Garage Door Receiver — 115V AC, DIP-Switch Programming

The Multi-Code 1099-20 is a single-channel radio receiver designed for remote activation of commercial garage doors, industrial doors, automatic gates, and compatible access-control equipment.

Operating at 300 MHz, the receiver works with compatible Multi-Code transmitters that use a matching 10-position DIP-switch code. Its built-in 115V-to-24V transformer allows connection to a standard 115V AC power source, while the relay output connects to the control input of a compatible door or gate operator.

The receiver includes an external antenna connection to help improve radio reception, particularly when the receiver is installed near or inside a metal operator enclosure.

    How It Works

The receiver stores its radio code through ten internal DIP switches. A compatible Multi-Code transmitter must be set to the same DIP-switch pattern.

When the programmed transmitter button is pressed, the receiver detects the matching 300 MHz signal and activates its relay output. The relay then sends a control signal to the connected garage door operator, gate operator, or other compatible equipment.

This model provides one output channel and therefore controls one primary function, such as opening a gate or cycling a garage door operator.

    Compatible Transmitters and Controls

The receiver is intended for use with compatible 300 MHz Multi-Code transmitters and keyless-entry controls using ten DIP switches.

    Compatible devices may include selected:

    • Multi-Code visor transmitters
    • Multi-Code key-ring transmitters
    • Multi-Code wireless keypads
    • Digi-Code controls designed for the same 300 MHz Multi-Code format
    • Existing ten-switch Multi-Code access-control devices

Compatibility requires both the correct 300 MHz frequency and the correct 10-position DIP-switch coding system.

This receiver is not compatible with rolling-code remotes, Security+ transmitters, Security+ 2.0 products, Intellicode controls, or devices operating on a different radio frequency.

    Common Applications

The Multi-Code 1099-20 receiver can be used with compatible equipment in:

    • Commercial overhead-door systems
    • Industrial door applications
    • Automatic driveway gates
    • Parking entrances and exits
    • Apartment and condominium gates
    • Storage facilities
    • Warehouses and loading areas
    • Commercial access-control systems
    • Older operators requiring an external radio receiver

    Installation and Wiring

The receiver should be mounted near the garage door or gate operator in a location that allows access to the wiring terminals and provides suitable antenna placement.

The included transformer connects to a suitable 115V AC power source. The receiver’s relay contacts are then connected to the appropriate activation terminals on the operator or access-control system.

The antenna should be positioned as far from large metal obstructions as practical. A remotely located coaxial antenna may help improve reception when the receiver is mounted inside a metal enclosure.

Always confirm the operator’s required control input and wiring arrangement before installation. Do not apply line voltage to low-voltage activation terminals.

    Programming

    To program the receiver:

    1. Disconnect electrical power before opening the receiver housing.
    2. Locate the ten internal DIP switches.
    3. Select a unique switch pattern.
    4. Set the compatible transmitter’s DIP switches to the identical pattern.
    5. Restore power and test the system.
    6. Confirm that the receiver activates only from authorized transmitters.

The factory-default code should be changed during installation to reduce the possibility of another nearby Multi-Code device using the same code.

    Package Contents

    • One Multi-Code 1099-20 single-channel receiver
    • One 115V-to-24V transformer
    • Antenna hardware

Remote controls, keypads, coaxial extension cable, operator wiring, mounting fasteners, and other accessories are not included unless specifically stated.

    Important Compatibility Notes

    Before ordering, verify:

    • The existing transmitter operates at 300 MHz
    • The transmitter uses ten DIP switches
    • The system requires one receiver channel
    • A suitable 115V AC power source is available
    • The connected operator accepts a compatible relay-contact input
    • The receiver’s relay-contact rating is suitable for the application

Do not identify compatibility from the remote-control brand alone. Multi-Code products were produced in multiple frequencies and configurations.

    Installation and Safety

Disconnect power to the operator and receiver before installation, wiring, programming, or service.

Installation should be completed by a qualified garage-door, gate, access-control, or electrical technician familiar with the connected equipment.

This radio receiver is an activation control and does not replace required photoelectric sensors, monitored safety edges, entrapment-protection devices, vehicle detectors, or other safety equipment.

Multi-Code 1099-20 300 MHz One-Channel Gate and Garage Door Receiver
