LiftMaster LOOPDETLM Plug-In Vehicle Loop Detector – Exit, Interrupt & Shadow Loop

LOOPDETLM
$189.00

The LiftMaster LOOPDETLM is a fail-safe plug-in vehicle loop detector designed for compatible LiftMaster automatic gate operators.

When connected to a properly installed inductive vehicle detection loop, the detector senses changes in the loop caused by a vehicle entering the detection area. Depending on the operator connection, the LOOPDETLM can function as an Exit Loop, Interrupt Loop, or Shadow Loop.

Its direct plug-in design simplifies installation on compatible LiftMaster control and expansion boards while providing adjustable sensitivity, frequency selection, vehicle-detection boost, diagnostic LEDs, and built-in testing functions.

Exit Loop

An Exit Loop is typically installed on the secure side of the property.

When a vehicle drives over the loop, the LOOPDETLM can command a compatible gate operator to open the gate automatically.

This is commonly used for free-exit applications where vehicles should be able to leave the property without using a remote, keypad, or access credential.

Interrupt Loop

An Interrupt Loop is typically positioned near the gate travel path.

If a vehicle is detected while the gate is closing, the loop can signal the operator to stop and reverse the gate back toward the open position.

This helps prevent the gate from closing on a vehicle occupying the protected area.

Shadow Loop

A Shadow Loop is typically used with swing gates and positioned within the gate's swing area.

The loop is active while the gate is open and helps prevent the gate from closing while a vehicle remains within the gate travel zone.

8 Sensitivity Levels

The LOOPDETLM provides eight sensitivity settings:

  • 1: Lowest sensitivity — larger vehicles

  • 8: Highest sensitivity — smaller vehicles

  • 4: Factory default

Sensitivity can be adjusted based on loop size, pavement conditions, installation geometry, and the types of vehicles that need to be detected.

High-Profile Vehicle Boost

The selectable BOOST function increases detector sensitivity to help maintain detection of high-profile vehicles such as:

  • Semi trucks

  • Delivery trucks

  • Box trucks

  • Buses

  • Other high-clearance commercial vehicles

Four Selectable Frequencies

Four frequency settings allow installers to reduce interference when multiple inductive loops are located near each other.

When multiple LOOPDETLM detectors are used together on a compatible LiftMaster system, frequency management helps minimize crosstalk between adjacent loops.

Adjustable Call Track-Out

The detector can be configured to remain active for:

  • Infinite — Factory Default

  • Fast — Approximately 5 Minutes

  • Slow — Approximately 15 Minutes

This feature can help prevent a permanently occupied or faulted loop from holding the gate indefinitely in certain applications.

Built-In Diagnostics

LED indicators provide information about:

  • Normal operation

  • Active vehicle detection

  • Open loop faults

  • Shorted loop faults

  • Authentication faults

  • Test mode

This allows technicians to troubleshoot the detector and loop installation directly at the operator.

Built-In Test Mode

The TEST setting allows the installer to simulate a vehicle occupying the loop without physically driving a vehicle over it.

This makes it easier to verify proper Exit, Interrupt, or Shadow loop operation during installation and troubleshooting.

Compatible Loop Wire

LiftMaster specifies continuous loop wire using:

  • 14 AWG

  • 16 AWG

  • 18 AWG

stranded wire with suitable XLPE or polyester insulation.

The actual pavement loop and lead-in wiring are not included with the LOOPDETLM.

Compatible LiftMaster Operators

The LOOPDETLM is designed for compatible LiftMaster gate operators equipped with the appropriate plug-in loop detector connection or expansion board.

Compatible operator families include select:

  • LA400

  • LA412

  • LA500

  • CSL24

  • CSW24

  • RSL12

  • RSW12

  • SL585

  • SL595

  • SL3000

  • CSW200

  • HCTDC

  • Current compatible LiftMaster commercial gate systems

LiftMaster also currently lists LOOPDETLM as a compatible accessory for the CSL24UL.

Always verify the exact operator model and control-board configuration before ordering.

Package Contents

  • 1 – LiftMaster LOOPDETLM Plug-In Vehicle Loop Detector

Inductive loop wire, preformed loops, loop sealant, expansion boards, gate operators, and installation accessories are sold separately.

Important Compatibility Note

The LOOPDETLM is designed specifically for compatible LiftMaster gate-operator control systems.

Do not assume compatibility with another operator simply because it uses an inductive vehicle loop.

Verify:

  • Operator model

  • Control-board version

  • Expansion-board requirements

  • Loop detector socket availability

  • Intended Exit / Interrupt / Shadow function

Important Installation Note

Loop-detector and gate-operator installation should be performed by a trained gate systems technician.

Disconnect operator power before installing or removing the detector. After installation, test the loop at multiple vehicle positions and confirm that the gate responds correctly before returning the system to normal operation.
