How It Works

The LiftMaster 378LM functions as a wireless secondary wall control.

Instead of connecting directly to the garage door opener with low-voltage control wires, the 378LM sends a wireless command to the compatible opener.

After the control panel has been programmed to the garage door opener, pressing the appropriate door-control button sends a coded wireless signal to activate the opener.

The 378LM can be programmed to operate up to two compatible garage door openers, allowing one secondary control panel to provide convenient access to two garage doors from a single location.

Because communication is wireless, the control can be installed in locations where adding conventional wall-control wiring would otherwise require drilling, fishing wires through walls, or modifying finished surfaces.

Compatibility

IMPORTANT:

The 378LM is NOT a universal wall control.

Installation Requirements

Because the 378LM communicates wirelessly, installation does not require conventional control wiring between the wall panel and garage door opener.

Installation & Safety

Install the 378LM only where the person operating the control can clearly see the garage door.

Mount the control panel:

• Away from moving garage door components
• In a location where accidental activation is unlikely

Never allow children to operate or play with garage door controls.

Before using the newly programmed control panel, confirm that the garage door opener and door system are operating correctly.

After installation:

• Confirm normal opening and closing travel
• Test the photo-eye safety sensors
• Test the automatic reversing system according to the opener manufacturer's instructions

The LiftMaster 378LM is an additional control device only. It does not replace required photo-eye sensors, entrapment-protection devices, or other garage door opener safety systems.
