CPS-U is the standard monitored photo-eye system supplied with many compatible LiftMaster Logic 5.0 and medium-duty commercial operators. The infrared beam spans the door opening; an obstruction breaking the beam sends a monitored safety signal to the operator.

These sensors are not intended for outdoor, wash-down, or weather-exposed installations. For those environments, select the appropriate NEMA-rated LiftMaster photo-eye system.

Confirm the commercial operator model, control-board generation, monitored safety input, required range, installation environment, and applicable safety standard before ordering. CPS-U alone is different from the CPS kit, which adds an interface for certain older or non-monitored operators.

Installation should be performed by a qualified commercial-door technician. Disconnect and lock out operator power, mount the sensors where the beam protects the entrapment zone, align them using the indicator lights, secure the wiring, and test obstruction detection and reversal before returning the door to service.
