LiftMaster OES-RD16 Monitored Optical Safety Edge Kit – 16 ft Rolling Door
The LiftMaster OES-RD16 is a monitored optical sensing-edge kit for compatible commercial rolling doors. Installed along the door’s closing edge, it uses infrared sensors inside a flexible rubber edge to detect compression caused by contact with an obstruction. The connected operator then responds through its monitored safety circuit.
The 16-foot rubber sensing edge can be cut to match the door width. Its mounting profile fits between the double-angle bottom bars of a compatible rolling door.

COMPATIBILITY
The LiftMaster installation instructions identify compatibility with Heavy, Standard, and Medium Duty Logic commercial operators manufactured after 2010, plus FDC, FDCL, FDOA, FDOB, and Egress commercial operators.
Verify the exact operator model, control board, and approved safety-device requirements before ordering. This kit is intended for compatible LiftMaster commercial door operators only.
The 16-foot specification refers to the supplied sensing-edge length across the door. It does not describe door height.
INSTALLATION NOTES
Measure the door width and confirm the bottom-bar mounting arrangement before cutting the rubber edge. Follow the supplied instructions for sensor placement, junction-box mounting, coil-cord routing, and polarity-sensitive operator wiring.
After installation, test the sensing edge across the door width and verify the operator’s required stopping and reversing response.
SAFETY WARNINGS
Commercial rolling doors can cause serious injury or death. Installation and servicing should be performed by a qualified commercial door technician.
Disconnect operator power before installation or wiring. Never bypass the monitored edge, photoeyes, or other required safety devices. Keep people and vehicles clear during testing, and do not return the door to service until the complete safety system operates correctly.
