The LiftMaster 39-10167 is a replacement friction disc for the adjustable mechanical clutch used in compatible LiftMaster commercial garage-door operators. The disc helps transfer motor torque through the clutch while allowing controlled slippage when excessive resistance is encountered.

Specifications

  • Product type: Commercial operator clutch friction disc

  • Outside diameter: Approximately 3-15/16 inches

  • Center opening: Approximately 3/4 inch

  • Thickness: Approximately 0.125 inch

  • Application: Adjustable mechanical operator clutch

  • Quantity: One disc

Compatibility

Used with compatible LiftMaster commercial operators equipped with the corresponding mechanical clutch assembly. Applications may include select:

  • MH and MHS

  • MJ

  • H, BH and RBH

  • J and DJ

  • SD

  • MT and BMT

  • T and APT

Compatibility varies by operator model, horsepower, production revision and clutch design. Confirm the existing disc dimensions and operator parts diagram before ordering.

This is a friction disc only. It is not a complete clutch assembly and will not correct damaged pressure plates, springs, hubs, shafts or adjustment hardware.

Common Replacement Indicators

  • Clutch slips under normal door load

  • Disc is glazed, cracked, contaminated or worn thin

  • Operator motor runs but the output shaft slips

  • Clutch adjustment can no longer produce consistent operation

  • Burning odor or excessive heat near the clutch assembly

A slipping clutch can also indicate an unbalanced, obstructed or binding door. Diagnose the door and operator before replacing or tightening clutch components.

Package Contents

  • One LiftMaster 39-10167 clutch disc

Clutch plates, adjustment spring, retaining hardware and operator components are not included.

Installation & Safety

Disconnect and lock out electrical power before opening the operator or servicing the clutch. Record the original clutch arrangement and adjustment before disassembly.

After installation, adjust the clutch according to the operator manual. Never overtighten the clutch to force an improperly balanced or binding door to move. Test the manual release, travel limits, stopping action and all entrapment-protection devices.
