The LiftMaster 41A482 is a replacement gear-and-sprocket assembly for select older LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Sears Craftsman and Raynor belt-drive garage door openers manufactured before approximately 2001. It transfers power from the opener motor to the drive belt and trolley system.

Features

  • Replacement assembly for compatible pre-2001 belt-drive openers

  • Restores power transfer between the motor and drive belt

  • Preassembled gear, drive pulley and sprocket structure

  • Designed for older opener configurations using the corresponding nine-cog belt-drive pulley

  • Commonly cross-referenced to LiftMaster 41A4885-2

Compatibility

Common compatible models may include:

  • LiftMaster 1270

  • LiftMaster 1280 and 1280R

  • LiftMaster 8100 and 8200

  • LiftMaster 9200

  • Select Chamberlain, Craftsman and Raynor belt-drive openers from the same production family

Compatibility must be confirmed using the opener model number, manufacturing date, existing pulley configuration and replacement-parts diagram. Do not substitute a post-2001 gear assembly; newer assemblies may use a different pulley and belt configuration.

Common Failure Symptoms

  • Motor runs but the belt and trolley do not move

  • Stripped or damaged internal gear

  • Belt-drive pulley turns irregularly

  • Grinding noise from inside the opener

  • Visible plastic shavings beneath the drive assembly

A broken gear can also result from an unbalanced or binding garage door. Correct the underlying door problem before installing the replacement.

Package Contents

  • One pre-2001 belt-drive gear and sprocket assembly

Additional bushings, grease, hardware or related components are included only when expressly shown or listed.

Installation & Safety

Disconnect electrical power and close the garage door before servicing the opener. Release belt tension according to the opener manual. Inspect the belt, trolley, motor shaft and surrounding bushings for additional damage.

The garage door must operate smoothly and remain properly balanced by hand. Do not use the opener to compensate for damaged springs, cables, rollers, bearings or track.
