LiftMaster 412HM Universal Coaxial Receiver – 390 MHz Security+
The LiftMaster 412HM Universal Coaxial Receiver is a 390 MHz external radio receiver designed to add compatible LiftMaster wireless remote-control capability to garage door openers, commercial door operators, gate operators, and other compatible access-control equipment.
The 412HM supports LiftMaster Security+ rolling-code technology and can also work with compatible billion-code and DIP-switch transmitters when configured in the appropriate security mode.

390 MHz Security+ Receiver
The 412HM operates on LiftMaster’s legacy 390 MHz radio platform.
In High Security mode, the receiver supports compatible Security+ rolling-code transmitters and keypad codes.
In Normal Security mode, the receiver can support a broader range of compatible 390 MHz LiftMaster transmitters, including certain rolling-code, billion-code, and DIP-switch remotes.
Receiver Memory
The 412HM provides two selectable security configurations:
High Security Mode
-
Stores up to 15 compatible rolling-code transmitters or keypad codes
-
Intended primarily for Security+ applications
Normal Security Mode
-
Stores up to 31 compatible transmitters
-
Allows broader legacy transmitter compatibility
Changing security modes may require existing transmitter codes to be erased and reprogrammed.
Coaxial Antenna Connection
The receiver uses an F-type coaxial antenna connection.
The antenna can be connected directly to the receiver or remotely positioned using a compatible coaxial cable setup when installation conditions require the antenna to be located away from the receiver.
Remote antenna placement can be useful in commercial installations where metal structures or operator enclosures may reduce radio range.
Selectable Power Supply
The 412HM can operate from:
-
12VDC
-
18–35VAC/DC
The internal voltage jumper must be positioned correctly for the power supply being used.
Applying 24V while the receiver is configured for 12V can damage the receiver.
Always verify supply voltage before installation.
Momentary or Constant Output
The receiver provides selectable output operation.
Momentary Mode:
The relay contacts close briefly when a programmed transmitter is activated.
Constant Mode:
The relay remains activated while the radio signal continues.
Constant-contact operation is intended only for appropriate commercial applications and must not be used where it would bypass required residential garage door safety systems.
Typical Applications
The LiftMaster 412HM may be used with compatible:
-
Commercial garage door operators
-
Residential garage door openers
-
Gate operators
-
Barrier gate systems
-
Access-control equipment
-
Older operators requiring an external 390 MHz receiver
Because the 412HM provides relay-output control, it can be useful for adding compatible LiftMaster radio control to equipment without a suitable built-in receiver.
Important Compatibility Information
The 412HM is a 390 MHz legacy receiver.
Do not confuse it with the LiftMaster 312HM, which operates on 315 MHz.
Before ordering, verify:
-
Existing remote frequency
-
Remote model number
-
Operator control voltage
-
Required relay-output configuration
-
Security+ / billion-code / DIP-switch compatibility
Newer LiftMaster Security+ 2.0 remotes should not automatically be assumed compatible simply because they can transmit on 390 MHz.
Legacy / Discontinued Model
The LiftMaster 412HM is a legacy receiver model that has been discontinued by LiftMaster.
It remains useful for maintaining and repairing existing installations that rely on compatible 390 MHz LiftMaster radio equipment.
Installation & Safety
Disconnect power before installing or servicing the receiver.
After installation, program the required transmitters and test the operator, receiver, controls, travel limits, and all applicable safety and entrapment-protection devices before returning the system to service.
If you are unsure whether the LiftMaster 412HM will work with your existing operator or remote controls, contact Garage-DoorParts.com with the operator model number and remote-control model before ordering.
