Remote & Accessory Compatibility
The 2220L requires compatible Security+ 3.0 remotes and wireless keypads. Older LiftMaster remotes are not directly compatible, including Security+ 2.0 models such as the 892LT, 893LM, and 891LM.
LiftMaster specifies the L993S 3-button remote and L955W multifunction control panel for this model. Verify your package contents before purchasing additional accessories.
Rail & Installation Requirements
A compatible chain-drive rail assembly must be selected separately for the door height and installation. Do not assume an existing rail, wall control, or remote will transfer from an older opener.
Smartphone control and camera access require an internet connection and adequate Wi-Fi coverage in the garage. This opener has no battery backup for powered operation during an outage.
Safety Warnings
Install only on a properly balanced, freely moving garage door. An opener cannot compensate for broken springs, damaged cables, or a binding door.
Required safety reversing sensors must be installed, aligned, and tested according to LiftMaster instructions. Never bypass them. Test the contact-reversal system after installation and monthly thereafter.
Keep remotes away from children and keep people clear of the moving door. Disconnect electrical power before servicing. Spring and cable repairs must be performed by a trained garage door technician.
