• The Linear BBU Battery Backup Unit provides temporary operating power to a compatible Linear garage door opener when household AC power is unavailable. It is designed specifically for the Linear LDCO800 DC-powered garage door operator and installs directly inside the opener housing.

  The unit contains two rechargeable batteries that are automatically maintained and charged by the garage door opener during normal operation. When an electrical outage occurs, the BBU automatically supplies DC power so the garage door can continue to open and close.

  Battery Status Alert

  The BBU includes an internal audible status indicator. If the batteries fail the automatic self-test or require service, the unit sounds three beeps every minute.

  Compatibility

  • Linear LDCO800 garage door operators
  • LDCO800 operators equipped with a battery-backup connector
  • Certain older LDCO800 operators after the required controller-board and mounting modifications

  Not compatible with every Linear garage door opener. Confirm the opener model and controller-board connection before ordering.

  Older retrofit installations may require the newer Linear HAE00061 controller board, which includes the necessary BBU connector. The opener chassis may also need mounting holes drilled using the appropriate installation template.

  Backup Duration

  The battery backup can power the compatible operator for up to approximately 24 hours after AC power is interrupted. Actual backup time depends on:

  • Number of door cycles during the outage
  • Garage door weight and balance
  • Battery age and condition
  • Temperature
  • Opener load

  This product is intended for temporary outage operation and should not be treated as an unlimited emergency power supply.

  Charging Requirements

  Allow the battery backup unit to charge for 48 hours before testing it under battery power. Batteries are normally recharged within approximately 48 hours after AC power is restored.

  Installation Requirements
