  How It Works

  The vehicle loop detector connects to an appropriately installed in-ground detection loop. When a vehicle enters the detection area, the loop detector sends a signal to the compatible commercial door operator to begin the opening cycle.

  The TLS1CARD coordinates the commercial operator with the red-and-green traffic light. The signal remains red while the door is closed or moving and changes to green when the door reaches its fully open position, indicating that the doorway is ready for vehicle passage.

  The additional CPSIII monitored photo-eye system helps detect vehicles, people or objects within the protected doorway area. When properly installed and connected, the system provides additional monitored entrapment protection.

  Concrete cutting, loop-wire installation, pavement sealing and related materials may be required and are not necessarily included with the AD2 package.

  Traffic Signal Operation

  The RGL24LY traffic light provides a clear visual indication to drivers:

  • Flashing or illuminated red: Stop and wait while the door is closed or moving.
  • Solid green: Proceed when the door has reached its fully open position and the path is clear.

  The traffic signal is an operational aid and does not replace driver attention, monitored safety devices or proper facility procedures.
